Do you know the differences between the words "it" and "there"?
These two words are often confused by beginning and
intermediate level learners of English.
Directions:
Choose "it" or "there" to complete each sentence or question. Guidance
may be provided with information in parentheses. (....)
1. How much is ________? (You're asking about the price.)
2. ________ isn't enough time to finish the job.
3. _________ is someone at the door. (First reference to a person)
4. _________ is a man. (This is the second reference to a person.)
5. _________ is starting to get late.

7. How much is _________? (You're asking about an amount.)
8. Is _________ any snow on the ground?
9. Is _________ cold outside?
