Begin a new level at the beginning of a new month

Hello Students,

I have just a few important reminders for you:

1. As many of you already know, the beginning of a new month means that students studying on LearnAmericanEnglishOnline.com move on to a new level. Blue Level students move forward to the Red Level, Red Level students go to the Yellow Level, Yellow Level students proceed to the Green Level, and so on.

2. In order to be a successful online student, keep a notebook by your computer in order to write the answers to exercises and quizzes. You should also use your notebook for taking notes.  Remember: writing is much better than clicking when studying any subject.

Always write!

3. In addition to the lessons, be sure to visit the Listening Lab and do the dictation exercises.  Developing your ear for English is one of the best things you can do to improve your language skills. Almost all of the audio files are downloadable and can be saved to a mobile device or your desktop.

Develop your ear!

4. Visit the Word of the Day section. Learning one new word per day is the least you should do when studying English. I tell my students that they should aim for five new words per day, but if time isn't available, at least one new word per day will still move you forward to achieveing your goals. The word for today is "aid."

Thanks to all the students who write to me and tell me when there are errors in the site. I work fast and can not always detect errors in lessons or in email. Your help is greatly appreciated!

There's a new video for the word "owe." I made this video for my regular classroom students, but you may benefit from it as well. When you "owe" someone, you have to repay that person, usually in the form of money.

+ Here's a new new listening lab exercise for modal verbs that are used with the passive voice.

If you no longer want to receive email from your teacher, please click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. I don't want anyone receiving unwanted email!

That's all for now.

Have a good day!

Your teacher,

Paul

PEACE!
