How are you doing so far this month? I've noticed many of you are following the daily lessons in the Blue Level. That's great! REMEMBER: The day of the month follows the number of the lesson.Today is June 5, so you are on Lesson Five. That makes it easier to keep track of where you are supposed to be in your studies.
Today's lesson is on the differences among the pronouns this, that, these, and those. These words are used when describing things, singular and plural, close or far.
If I have a pencil in my hand: This is my pencil. (The pencil is close.)
If the pencil is on a table across the room: That is my pencil. (The pencil is far.)
If I have two or more pencils in my hand: These are my pencils. (The pencils are close.)
If the pencils are on a table across the room: Those are my pencils. (The pencils are far.)
Get it? If not, go to Blue Level Lesson Five for a quick lesson and then come back here to try this exercise:
Directions: Choose this, that, these, or those to complete each sentence or questions. Whether the object or objects are close or far in time or in space will be indicated. Pay attention to singular or plural nouns.
